Eunice man arrested for knocking his girlfriends teeth out

 A Eunice man who was wanted for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at her campus apartment is behind bars today.

The Eunice Police Department reports that Zederick Gibson was taken into custody on Friday, Nov. 2 in Lafayette. He was then transferred to the Acadia Parish Jail and booked for Second-Degree Battery.

Gibson is accused of attacking his 19-year-old girlfriend on October 17, 2012. The alleged assault happened at the Bengal Village Apartment Complex, located on the LSU-Eunice campus at roughly 9:00 p.m.

Reports indicate that Gibson punched his girlfriend in the mouth, causing some of her teeth to fall out. He then fled the scene and officers were unable to locate him. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Gibson was located booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. He is charged with Second-Degrree Battery and Criminal Damage to Property.
