Baby boy was the first to come into the world at Lafayette General this year
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — The first baby born at Lafayette General Medical Center in 2013 is a baby boy. At 7:56 am, Mykell Lee Thomas was the first baby to come into the world at Lafayette General. He came out seven pounds and eleven ounces, and is twenty inches long. Lafayette General did something special for the mother that was the first to give birth at the hospital.
"We give her a basket of different items for the baby. We also five them $150 photo session and a couple other things for the new baby and for her," says Stacy Duhon, Labor and Delivery Nurse Supervisor.
Every new year Lafayette General gives the first born something special. They give things that the mother needs or wants. The nurses love going on a little shopping spree specifically for the first born on New Years, and little Mykell sure will take some beautiful pictures with that photo session they received.
