Video footage showing a Baton Rouge man tossing a dog over the fence at a local shelter is circulating social media platforms. Many in Baton Rouge are outraged by the images and the shelter hopes the public will help identify the man.

The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) released the images that show a man wearing an orange T-Shirt and blue jeans pulling up to their fence on Saturday, Aug. 4. The man gets out of his white pickup truck, goes over to the fence and then tosses the dog over.

“The puppy is okay,” a representative from CAAWS posted on its Facebook page. “Please share the photos/videos in case you or someone you know can identify the person.”

So far the post has 486 direct shares. Those who have commented seem outraged. However, not all are convinced any law has been broken.

“I hate to say this but after watching this over and over, I’m not sure what the charge would be or what you can say,” one poster wrote.
