LAFAYETTE, LA — Four trucks were stolen from the lot of a car dealership in Lafayette early this morning. Although three have been recovered, investigators are working to track down the final one.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the burglary was reported at roughly 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4. We’re told deputies got located one of the stolen vehicles in the area and were able to make an arrest.
Kenneth Taylor, 18, of Scott was arrested after he was caught in one of the stolen trucks. Deputies then found out three additional vehicles had been stolen from the same dealership on Roper Road.
Deputies have located all of the stolen vehicles except for one. They say it’s a 2003 Chevrolet Pickup Truck 2500 series. It’s white with larger than factory tires and has the license plate number B507708
Taylor was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for Felony Motor Vehicle Theft and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
We’re told this investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
