3-star General Russel Honoré (Army, Ret.) led his troops into New Orleans immediately after Hurricane Katrina, restoring the city from anarchy back to order. Now he tells that incredible story in his book, Leadership in the New Normal: A Short Course. The book discusses human nature, the near future, and lessons from an experienced leader in how to handle both.

General Honoré spoke to KADN about the election, saying that politicians of either party must "live up to the duties that they swear themselves to, to defend the Constitution of the United States, and to do in Washington what we pay them to do, which is to solve the problems on their desks." He spoke out against unnecessary partisanship, saying "We need to not have a government divided, which serves no one well."

General Honoré, who served in the Army for 37 years, now lives in Baton Rouge.
