Governor Jindal filed lawsuit in federal court against President Obama's US Department of Education

Governor Jindal is making news again tonight.  This time he filed a lawsuit in federal court arguing President Obama's US Department of Education has violated the tenth amendment to the US Constitution and federal law, by coercing states to adopt Common Core standards and assessments.  Governor Jindal says the federal government is over-reaching first with Obamacare and now with education.

"This was a bait-and-switch.  They said all along they were going to allow states and local communities to develop these standards, but instead it's become a top-down approach from the federal government," says Governor Bobby Jindal.

Governor Jindal went on to say that this was in no way a political move, but an act for the students in Louisiana.  He also says the reason he waited until now to file the suit is because he believed in Common Core as it was introduced, but he says now he sees the federal government is over-reaching into our local schools.
