Great turn out for 2nd annual Stone Energy gumbo cook-off
Benefiting United Way of Acadiana; entertainment from Wayne Toups
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — Today is the second annual Stone Energy gumbo cook-off to benefit United Way of Acadiana. One hundred gumbo cooking teams, majority of them oil field businesses around the area, have been hard at work cooking chicken and sausage and seafood gumbo fo rhte community to come try and vote on who is the best. All the while giving back to the community.
"It just shows the support of Acadiana because all the money for United Way of Acadiana stays in Acadiana. They have three different things that they really focus on and it's education, essentials, and earnings so we really trying to focus our money and get it to the people that need it and help turn our community around," says Sheri Bienvenue, Executive Assistant for Stone Energy.
Also, Wayne Toups will be playing for entertainment attracting a big crowd from the community. Everyone will vote on their top three favorite chicken and sausage and their top three seafood gumbos, which will be announced later tonight.
