Hunting seasons closed in several areas due to high river level
LOUISIANA — High water due to recent rain has created dangerous conditions for hunters, which prompted the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to make several closures to hunting seasons.
Starting today hunting, except waterfowl, has been suspended in the Pearl River area.
Beginning Saturday, Jan. 12, all hunting with exception of waterfowl will be suspended on Joyce, Manchac and the Maurepas Swamp Wildlife Management areas.
The suspensions will remain in effect until further notice.
