Sheriff Louis Ackal would like to inform the public that on June 18th the Sheriff’s office went live with crimemapping.com in an effort to proactively share information with the citizens of Iberia Parish.
The crimemapping.com website allows the residents to see a map of recent crime activity within the parish. They can also select types, date ranges, generate reports and receive free crime alerts.

Sheriff Ackal now provides a new level of transparency for all the residents he serves. Neighborhood Watch Officers can use the map at their meetings to provide reliable crime information and encourage citizens to report offenses and tips through links within the alert.

Sheriff Ackal encourages Iberia Parish Citizens to partner with him by increasing awareness in their neighborhoods by using this proactive tool. The Sheriff feels by providing this information to the public it gives everyone the information needed in helping the Sheriff’s office fight crime in their local neighborhood. This information keeps the citizens of the parish informed on what is happening in their neighborhoods in efforts to help reduce crime.
