LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (NBC33) — An investigation has been launched after a funeral home employee has accidentally cremated the fetus cut from its mother's stomach.

Livingston Parish Coroner's Office officials were set to conduct an autopsy on the baby. Louisiana State Police have now joined in the investigation to help figure out what happened.

Jeffery Reynolds, 31, is accused of cutting the fetus from his pregnant wife's abdomen. He's facing multiple charges, including First-Degree Feticide.
