Justifiable Homicide: Wife will not face charges for stabbing husband
NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — A 38-year-old man from New Orleans East was allegedly stabbed by his wife during an argument. Although he died as a result of that injury, officials have not filed charges against her.
The New Orleans Police Department reports that the incident occurred shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. It happened at a home located on 10900 block of Roger Driver.
Officials say the man was involved in a verbal argument with his wife. At some point, however, he became physical. It was at this point that she allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the leg.
Although there was an attempted to transport him to a local hospital, he reportedly collapsed and died in the street.
Officials did not say whether the woman sustained any injuries during the incident.
The woman has not been charged at this time because the District Attorney’s Office has classified this as a Justifiable Homicide.
