Kiwanis Club Holds Annual Crying Towel Luncheon

Tuesday, August 21, 2012 - 7:39pm

The Kiwanis Club held their annual crying towel luncheon today.

The crying towel award is given to one of the area high school football coaches for downplaying his school's chances of winning this year.

All the local high school football coaches and assistant coaches gather for a chance up at the mic and instead of talking up their team's shot at a winning season they do the opposite.

The funniest and most pathetic show wins the crying towel.

The luncheon comes right on the heels of the largest jamboree in the state.

The 61st annual Kiwanis club football jamboree is this Thursday and Friday.

Everything starts at 6:00 pm at UL Cajun Field
and admission is only ten dollars each night.
