Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Monday night, a 26-year-old Kraemer man was killed when his motorcycle struck a utility pole after failing to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The investigation revealed that a 2005 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle was traveling southbound on LA-307 around mile post 9 in Kraemer. The motorcycle was being driven by Eric Allemand.

Allemand failed to take a right curve in the roadway. The motorcycle crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road.

The motorcycle struck a guy wire and utility pole, ejecting Allemand from the motorcycle. Allemand, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.

Investigating Troopers report that alcohol impairment is unknown at this time. Routine toxicology tests are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
