One high-end women's clothing and accessories store is becoming a new special events center in Lafayette.  La Marquise, a part of Parc Lafayette, is closing it's doors August 15 to pave the way for an events venue for members of the Petroleum Club of Lafayette.  The 16,000 square foot venue will be an extension of the Oil Center based Petroleum Club, and will be able to hold as many as 1,500 people for one cocktail reception.

"It's certainly a compliment to what we do.  I think it's an asset for us that helps us just provide another service for our members as we've always said another reason to belong.  I really think that it's on the cusp of a major, major explosion and we're just delighted to be a part of it," says John O'meara, General Manager of Petroleum Club of Lafayette.

The club will officially take possession of the building on September 1, calling the venue the perfect size for any size function, big or small.  If you have any questions or inquiries about the venue extension or club membership you can call 232-CLUB.
