Lafayette man arrested for OWI, writing worthless checks
Lafayette (KADN) — Lafayette city marshal deputies arrested Brian Paul Young on Tuesday on a bench warrant for second offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Deputies received a tip that Young was at a home in the 700 block of west St. Louis street in Lafayette. Deputies found Young hiding in a closet in one of the rooms.
Lafayette Police arrested Young for his first OWI on March 1, 2012. In this case he failed to appear in court twice, and warrants were issued by the court and executed by the marshal.
Young was arrested again for his second OWI and hit and run driving on September 4, 2013. He failed to appear in court that time as well.
Several attempts were made to contact young to no avail. A photograph of young and notice of the warrant was posted on social media.
Young also had a regular warrant with a $1,750.00 bond for seven counts of issuing worthless checks totaling $129.72 in 2012 and 2013. Five of the checks were given to BJ Po-Boy Shop and two to Olde Tyme Grocery.
Young was booked in the Lafayette parish correctional center on the warrants.
