The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a helicopter crash that killed one person.
They say it happened around 8:00 this morning in the Intracoastal area
just at a quarter of a mile from where the test flight took off.

Investigators do not know why it crashed only that the pilot was killed.
The name of the pilot has not been released.
