Lafayette Police searching for convenience store armed robber

Police are searching for a man who robbed a convenience employee at knife point.

The Lafayette Police Department reports that the incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 21 shortly before 11:00 p.m. The suspect managed to get away from the store located in the 4700 block of West Congress Street before police arrived.

The clerk at the store told investigators that the man walked into the store and pretended to make a purchase. When the clerk opened the register, the man pulled out a knife and demanded money.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money and ran out the store. He was seen driving off in a white truck.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, with a stock build.
