Lafayette, La. (KADN) — If you are driving a vehicle and run a red light or you're over the speed limit, then you will receive a ticket whether it's issued by a policeman or a photo, it's the law in this community. Over the last couple of years, there are many individuals that have ignored paying their ticket but now the city parish government is coming after all those deliquent citations from the safe light/safe speed program.
The lawsuits have been filed against these folks and Mayor President Durel says the past due monies are coming in. You might remember, back in early May, two individuals and one company were the first to be sued for not paying their red light camera and speed van fines. Together, the three owed more than $6,400 in past due fines.
Stay tuned as Fox 15 will continue to monitor this lawsuit process situation.
