Livingston to hold Night Out Against Crime Tuesday

 The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office teams with the City of Walker and the Walker Police Department to host the Parish’s ‘Night Out Against Crime’. On August 7, 2012, the public is invited to this FREE event to be held in Sidney Hutchinson Park in Walker from 5:00p – 8:00p.

Representatives from two dozen law-enforcement agencies will be on-hand to strengthen ties within the community.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘The community is our greatest asset in keeping the parish safe. They are our eyes and ears. We want to build upon that relationship of trust.’

High-Tech crime-fighting equipment will be part of Livingston Parish’s ‘Night Out Against Crime’. Touring the LPSO Helicopter and Special Response Vehicle will be part of the night’s activities, as will experiencing the Fire Protection District’s smoke house.

Kids’ carnival rides will also be made available, including inflatables and a Rock Wall.

Food will also be provided free of charge for those participating.
