BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Almost 100 employees from a local catering company have headed to the northeast to assist with Hurricane Sandy efforts.
The catering company is providing shelter, laundry services, meals and snacks for utility workers across the northeast.
Catering Cajun currently has people in Virginia, Delaware and Maryland ready to help where called upon.
"We will be there for the duration, so sometimes [that could last] weeks, sometimes two months,” Wayne Stablier, owner of Catering Cajun, said. “It really just depends on the severity of the situation."
Catering Cajun has been sending people to help with disaster relief for 18 years.
