Louisiana voters: What you need to know before you vote on constitutional amendments

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 - 3:00pm

In addition to President of the United States, EBR Mayor-President, and other local races, there are nine constitutional amendments you'll have a chance to vote on.

They range from when lawmakers can file bills to the right to bear arms.

The proposals can be lengthy and you won't have much time once you're in the booth to read them, understand them, and then vote on them.

That's why the public affairs research council of Louisiana has put out a guide to the amendments.

“Learn about these amendments a head of time,” Robert Travis Scott, PAR, said. “Go in there with a checklist yes or no of what you want to do with them - it's going to be much more efficient for you.”
