UPDATE: 2 more arrested for theft of giant yellow duck
Lafayette (KADN) — UPDATE 3-14-14: On March 12, 2014, detectives made two additional arrest in connection with the theft of the Boys and Girls Club inflatable duck.
Zachary Paul Quibodeaux, 21, of Lafayette and Tre Michael Leon, 21, of Rayne, both turned themselves into law enforcement authorities without incident.
The two men were arrested and charged on arrest warrants for Felony Theft.
UPDATE 3-6-14: Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have arrested Garcon Cormier, 21, and Kyle Cormier, 25, both of Lafayette Parish, and charged them each with one count of Felony Theft.
The inflatable duck was recovered and will be returned to the Boys and Girls Club.
More arrests are expected in the case as the investigation remains ongoing.
UPDATE 3-5-14: Detectives have released a photo of a truck traveling south on Johnston Street with the inflatable duck in the trucks bed.
The truck appears to be a dark colored Chevrolet 4-door Silverado.
If anyone can identify the owner of the vehicle or the suspects involved in the incident, they are encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
ORIGINAL 2-27-14: During the early morning on Thursday, February 27, 2014, someone stole a 14 foot inflatable yellow duck belonging to the Boys and Girls Club.
The duck was set up in front of a store in the 2700 block of Johnston Street.
Detectives are encouraging anyone with information on the identity of the suspects or the whereabouts of the duck to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
