LPD seeks suspect in Monday morning bank robbery

Lafayette police are seeking a suspect involved in a Monday morning bank robbery that occurred in the 3900 block of West Congress Street at about 10:50 a.m.

According to police reports, the suspect entered the bank wearing a surgical mask and holding an umbrella.

The suspect then approached the counter and handed the clerk a note demanding money.

The suspect left with the cash and headed north on foot.

No injuries were reported as part of this incident.

The suspect was described as a black man wearing a light colored jacket and long, dark pants.
