The Lafayette Parish School System's spanish immersion program is recognizing the first students to complete the program.  There were seven students in the K-8 program at Paul Breaux Middle School.  They participated in a panel discussion about their experience.

"Hispanics are coming from Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Cuba and they're coming to the United States all over in the United States.  So when they need help in grocery stores and trying to get their animals fixed, and trying to get food for their animals I can step in and translate what they're going to say or what they're trying to say," says Brian Charles, 8th grader at Paul Breaux in Spanish Immersion program.

Students and parents will gather next Monday night for a special ceremony to celebrate their completion of the program.
