Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne has spent the week touring the state creating awareness about the tourism industry, and the record setting economic impact it has on the state.  Today he stopped at the Tabasco Plant on Avery Island because it is a major tourist attraction in Acadiana.

"Acadiana as a whole, Iberia parish in particular, is a major contributor to Louisiana's economy from a tourism standpoint.  We talk about $10.8 billion being spent last year, and a good bit of it was spent throughout Acadiana.  This is the prime area, main attraction I'd say for so many people who come to Cajun Country, they want to see Avery Island," says Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne.
