Man arrested for rape of 66-year-old woman

The Morgan City Police Department has arrested a man they believe to be responsible for the rape of a 66-year-old woman.

The incident was reported on Monday, Oct. 1 shortly before 4:00 a.m. The victim says she woke up to find a man standing over her bed holding a knife. She says the man forced her to perform sexual acts.

Investigators gathered information and identified Glenn McNemar III, 25, of Morgan City as a potential suspect. At that point investigators learned that he had a warrant out for his arrest for Failure to Appear on the charge of DWI.

While details McNemar was questioned about the burglary and rape and officials say he confessed to the crime.

McNemar was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 2 for Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Rape. He will also face charges from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for his prior warrant.

No bond has been set at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
