Man indicted for raping 7-year-old boy, exposing him to AIDS virus

A 29-year-old Carencro man has been indicted for raping a chil and exposing him to the AIDS virus knowingly.

Conwell Cormier was arrested on April 1 after a three-month investigation. Cormier had raped a 7-year-old boy; the incident was initially reported in December 2012.

While in custody, Cormier admitted to detectives that he was positive for the AIDS virus; authorities confirmed this statement.

A Lafayette Parish grand jury indicted Cormier on Aggravated Rape and Intentional Exposer to the AIDS Virus.

Cormier is being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a $1 million bond.

Why do you want to keep this man in jail to feed and shelter him and then later or now pay for all his medical expenses? Really when there are innocent people who can't afford any of those luxuries.. Seriously...Oh and sorry for calling him a man.. Real men don't do that kind of stuff only unknowing animals... Pleas do away with him and bring peace to the boys family and give them whatever it would cost to keep the animal who did this alive....
