Man robs Lafayette credit union; police find clothing in woods

Lafayette Police are investigating the armed robbery of a credit union in the 1400 block of West Willow Street that occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The suspect reportedly entered the business wearing a mask and approached a teller.

The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded money. Afterward, the suspect fled on foot into a wooded area north of West Willow Street.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

Detectives later found the suspects clothing in the wooded area. They are continuing to search the area where the clothing was found.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing light colored pants, gray jacket, and black and yellow mask.
