CROWLEY, LA — A man wanted for previous drug charges was arrested for possession of marijuana and crack cocaine.
The Crowley Police Department reports that an officer was on patrol when he spotted the suspect, Denzel McIntyre, 20. The officer knew he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, so he tried to make contact with him, but that was unsuccessful.
“As officers approached the known wanted person as well as a passenger in the parked vehicle, officers observed the passenger to flee on foot,” Chief K.P. Gibson, Crowley Police Department, said. “After a short foot pursuit, the passenger was detained and the driver was taken into custody.”
Chief Gibson noted that the officers saw several bags of suspected drugs in the abandoned vehicle.
McIntyre and his passenger, Judson Etienne, 22, were both arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana and crack cocaine).
Etienne received an additional charge of Resisting an Officer.
Both men were booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. McIntyre’s bond was set at $87,762. Etienne’s bond was set at $48,250.
