The Mardi Gras season does so well for businesses all around south Louisiana, including Lafayette's local Mary Ellen's Tux Shoppe tucked in on St. Christopher Street.  Owners of Mary Ellen's Tux Shoppe, the Foremans, say this short Mardi Gras season has not hindered their seasonal sells at all, and that Mardi Gras is extremely important to their local business.

"Mardi Gras is amazingly important it's a big part of our business for sure.  First of all, meeting all the people is great we love seeing our friends and customers coming here, but it's a very crucial time for our business cause it really gets us off to a good start for the year," says Randy Foreman, co-owner of Mary Ellen's Tux Shoppe.

During the forty years that the Foremans have owned Mary Ellen's, Mardi Gras has been a crucial part of their business, and it grows every year because of all of the Krewes that Mardi Gras now has.
