A community outside of New Orleans is coming together to search for a missing teacher.

Dozens gathered at a church vigil on Thursday, March 7 to pray for Terrilyn Monette, 26. She was last seen Saturday morning in the parking lot of a bar in New Orleans.

Monette's mother and other family and friends flew in from California to look for her. Her mom says they spoke on the phone daily.

"We always ended our conversation with 'I Love You,'” stated mother Toni Enclade. “(We spoke) every day, never missed a day - that's why I knew when I didn't hear from my baby that day that something was wrong.”

Witnesses told police they saw Monette with a man in the bar parking lot Saturday before she disappeared.

Police are reviewing security camera footage from a bank nearby. Her black 2012 two-door Honda Accord has not been found. It has a Louisiana license plate number “WUN494.”

Monnette is described as an African-American female, approximately 5’8” tall, weighing 180 pounds and having a light complexion with long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a pink and yellow sweater with blue jeans. Monnette has a tattoo on her left leg.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Monnette is asked to call (504) 821-2222.
