The Eunice Police Department Narcotics Division recently completed an ongoing investigation of drug activity between a mother and her son.

The investigation began when Justin Bartram was observed walking on West Maple Ave with a "blunt" behind his left ear. Detectives then retrieved the blunt for inspection and it contained suspected marijuana.

Laura Bartram, mother of Justin, arrived on scene and asked officers why her son was being detained. She was told about the blunt and both were detained for further investigation after they revealed that they smoke marijuana together, this led to the apartment where they both reside.

The apartment, located in the 800 block of S Beulah, was then searched for contraband. Detectives then located evidence such as marijuana stems, smoking devices, a grinder, and zip lock baggies which are all used to consume, process, or package marijuana.

A .32 caliber revolver was also located and seized from the apartment.

Laura Bartram, 43, and Justin Bartram, 21, were charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Violation of the Uniform CDS Law and Possession of a firearm while in Possession of CDS.
