Officers find almost $9,000 worth of illegal drugs during search warrant

Two people have been arrested for possessing large quantities of narcotics and illegal guns.

According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Everett Darby and Tanisha Joseph were arrested after narcotics officers performed a warranted search of their home, in the 100 Block of Spearpoint Circle.

Officers say they discovered 16 grams of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, 60 Xanax tablets, and 19 Lortabs. The drugs found have a street value of $8,790.

Investigators also found a .223 caliber rifle and a 40 caliber handgun.

Both Darby and Joseph were charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I, II, III, IV, Transaction involving proceeds from drug offenses, and Illegal possession of a weapon.
