OPD catches major drug dealer

After a month long investigation, Opelousas police arrested a major drug dealer, Kevin Coleman, 35, on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Investigators searched the house of Coleman’s mother. Inside the home, they found three ounces of cocaine and one and a half ounces of crack under the front steps. The estimated street value of the drugs was about $15,000.

Coleman was charged with Failure to appear, Possession of Schedule I Drug, Possession with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule II Drug, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Coleman's criminal history goes back to 1997.
