Expected to be finished by the end of this year
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — The dismantling project of Our Lady of Lourdes hospital on St. Landry is fully underway. The demolition started in late spring and is set to be completely down by the end of this year.
"It's just been a vacant building since we moved into the new campus so just for the community and the safety to have a secure area," says Kristen Wilson, marketing specialist with Our Lady of Lourdes.
It is important to know that there are still two medical office buildings that will remain open. An out-patient rehab, imaging, and the fitness center will all still be seeing patients, and the parking garage will also be left after the demolition is complete. Where the hospital is now, will be a big green space.
