
LAFAYETTE, LA — The Lafayette Police have arrested a man on attempted murder charges after finding a beaten woman in his house.
On January 16, at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers went to a residence on Morning Glory Square where they found an unresponsive female victim. When officers arrived, they discovered that the victim had sustained severe bruising on her body.
After investigating the incident, Lafayette Police arrested Adam Batiste, 24, for Attempted Second-Degree Murder. Batiste was living at the residence.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The case remains under investigation.
