Police negotiation ends at Baton Rouge Airport, suspect in custody

 UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Andrew Aleffi. Police say he passed through security and showed no warning signs or a weapon. They will not say whether or not he made any demands during the negotiation.

Aleffi was taken into custody by Baton Rouge Police. No charges have been filed at this time. However, he will face state and local charges and possibly federal charges as well.

UPDATE: American Eagle jet pulled into the gate at the Baton Rouge airport to get on board to clean the plane. That's when the man rushed the jetway and locked himself in the cockpit.

He's in custody but his identity has not been released. We'll provide an update as soon as one is available.


ORIGINAL: American Airlines has confirmed to NBC33 News that a police negotiation is currently underway at the Baton Rouge airport.

Officials tell us that the Baton Rouge Police Department and the FBI are currently dealing with the incident. Details are extremely limited at this time. However, we have a crew headed to the scene and will update as soon as more information is available.
