Press conference covers new piece of Louisiana legislation
The Louisiana Balance of Powers Act
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — The Louisiana Balance of Powers Act is a move to protect the constitution of Louisiana no matter what the federal government says. And it'll be introduced in the upcoming Louisiana legislative session on April 8th. L.B. Williams, one of the co-authors of the legislation says,
"People sense that something is not right with this country. Overall I think they sense that when we increase our public debt nationally by sixty-percent in one term, no matter who is in office that's not a good thing. It can't be a good thing when we're continuing to spend money we don't have federally. That can't be a good thing. When that trickled down process begins to effect people at the local level, at the state level, and state budget it becomes a much more personal thing for most people."
The bill represents a major push against what some people consider the federal government's abuse of power.
