A former television cast member learned a new lesson about reality behind bars in prison over the weekend. He’s accused of sexual battery and resisting arrest after an incident at a popular nightclub in Lafayette.

According to the arrest report, Dustin James Zito, 27, was among several individuals who remained too long after closing time on Sunday, July 14. Employees of the City Bar (located on Jefferson Street) called for police assistance to clear the crowd.

When officers entered the building, a female approached them and said that Zito had inappropriately touched her. She claims he reached under her skirt as she was bent over the cigarette machine.

Zito, who was a cast member on the MTV reality show “Real World: Las Vegas,” later admitted to the act. He allegedly told the officer that the young woman “should be thankful that he reached up her dress since he is a ‘TV Star’ and several girls wish for that to happen to them.”

Zito tweeted a screen capture from surveillance cameras of the alleged sexual battery. You can see his foot underneath the girls dress.

Officers noted that Zito was highly intoxicated when they approached him. When they attempted to escort him from the building, he allegedly resisted and said to the officer “let’s fight!”

“[Zito] began to physically resist by pulling away from officer,” the report notes. “The subject also began to grab officer and pull officer to the ground as the struggle continued.”

At this point the officer pulled out his pepper spray and used it to subdue Zito. He was then placed under arrest.

Zito was charged with felony Sexual Battery, felony Resisting an Officer with Violence, misdemeanor Remaining After Being Forbidden, and misdemeanor Disturbing the Peace by Public Intoxication. His bond was set at $26,000.
