Implementation effecting every state differently
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — Today Representative Charles Boustany visited with the local rotary club to talk and discuss what is going on in the US economy, mainly focusing on what they are trying to do in Washington on tax reform. Boustany says this is a big effort underway in the House of Representatives right now, which he is on the committee writing the bill now. He also discussed the impact of Obamacare for the state.
"Louisiana is going to be effected by Obamacare and each state is doing things differently. Our state has elected not to expand medicaid and not to create it's own exchange, so the federal government is going to have to come in and create an exchange for Obamacare," says Representative Charles Boustany.
Boustany says not expanding medicaid is creating issues in itself along with the impact Obamacare is having on the greater marketplace creating higher premiums, higher costs, and uncertainty.
