Sen. Vitter fighting for local V.A. facilities
The recent national problems with the Veterans Affairs Department and U.S. veterans not receiving the treatment they need, the problem's continue for South Louisiana as well. For the past several years, Lafayette and Lake Charles have been promised new and enlarged facilities to care for the veterans of this area and help alleviate travel time for vet's as well as backlogs in larger VA hospitals.
U.S. Senator David Vitter visited the Lafayette VA clinic to tour the facilities with area Lafayette veteran volunteers. In a rare show of agreement, David Vitter, Mary Landrieu and Charles Boustany have all led the charge to clear the bureaucratic delays in the Washington VA department. Stay tuned, the battle continues to authorize new outpatient clinic's for the area veterans in Lafayette and Lake Charles.
