Several injured during violent home invasion in Iberia Parish

A little more than half a dozen people were robbed at gunpoint and some sustained injuries during a home invasion.

The incident happened on Thursday, August 2, at approximately 1:18 a.m. Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5000 block of Rip Van Winkle Road in reference to a home invasion.

Once deputies arrived they learned that 7 males were robbed at gun point by 3 black males. The victims described the suspects as having some type of masks covering their faces. Also they were all wearing white t-shirts and one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Four of the victims received injuries from the suspects and had to be transported to a local hospital. According to the victims, the suspects forced their way into the residence through the front door. Once inside they hit the victims and took the victims wallets.
