Special election at tomorrow's Lafayette Government Council meeting
New Council Chair to be elected
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — The first item to be discussed and voted on at tomorrow night's council meeting is the election of a new Council Chair. The new leadership for the council and new leadership for the Lafayette Public Utilities Authority, which is the governing authority of LUS, is one of the most important items on tomorrow night's agenda. City-Parish President Joey Durel has full faith in the council to pick the best suited for Lafayette's future.
"I don't know who it's going to be, but I'm sure the council will pick somebody who they feel can take us to another level and work with the administration and do some positive things for Lafayette," says Mayor Durel.
If you would like to attend, the meeting will take place as usual at the City-Parish Council Auditorium at 5:30 pm. You can go to the Lafayette Consolidated Government's website to look at all the items on tomorrow night's agenda.
