The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office located at 400 St. Martin Street is currently working with the Parish Government, which owns the 32-year-old building, to fix deteriorating cast iron pipes.

The Sheriff’s Office released a statement Friday stating that the work being done on the pipes will not interfere with law enforcement services, but that inmate visitation is suspended until further notice.

Other agencies assisting the St. Martin force while they fix their pipes are the Lafayette, Iberia, and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Offices as well as the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
