(KADN) — The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has issued a burn advisory due to windy conditions and dry vegetation.
The public is urged to exercise caution when setting outdoor fires.
The dry, windy conditions have recently led to a significant number of fires burning out of control. Some of the fires were in open land, but others have done damage to buildings and property.
“Our state has experienced an excessive number of out of control brush fires directly related to the intentional burning of trash and debris,” said State Fire Marshal Butch Browning.
The Fire Marshal’s Office recommends that citizens hold off on burning debris until the state has gotten more rain
