An investigation is underway for the attempted abduction of a 10-year old child according to Youngsville Police.

The incident took place 3PM Sunday afternoon near the 100 block of La Villa Circle while the child was in her neighborhood, when what is believed to be a silver colored Toyota Tacoma pick-up pulled up and drove along side her.

The driver then claimed to be a friend of the child's parents but when the child was reluctant to get in, the driver then tried forcing her into his truck before the girl began screaming and quickly ran away. The description of the driver is an older white male with grey or silver colored hair and the same colored beard.

This was the second child abduction in less than a week in Youngsville but police say they are unsure if there is any connection with the attempted abduction of a 6-year-old girl on July 21st.

Youngsville Police are asking for the public's help in identifying who may have been driving the vehicle and encourage anyone with information to call the Youngsville Police at 337-856-5931.
