Suspect arrested in Lafayette business burglary

A man has been arrested after being caught in the act of burglarizing a business.

On March 20, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to an alarm activation at a business in the 800 block of West Simcoe Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a suspect inside of the store placing items into a large bag. After establishing a perimeter around the building, officers saw the suspect attempt to exit the business.

The suspect was immediately confronted by a Lafayette Police K-9 officer and taken into custody when he retreated back into the building.

Raymond Zeno, 43, was arrested and charged with Simple Burglary of Business and Resisting an Officer.
