Three shot in Lafayette, police seeking suspects

Three people are in the hospital after an early morning shooting in Lafayette.

The Lafayette Police Department reports that the shooting happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9. The incident occurred at a private lot located in the 1300 block of North University Ave.

According to witnesses, the three victims were in the area when a disturbance occurred. The suspect fired multiple shots at the victims from a vehicle and then fled the area in a white four door older model vehicle. All three victims were transported to area hospitals and are currently in stable condition.

The cause of the disturbance remains under investigation.
