Three teens arrested for theft of historical military items from Denham Springs

Three teens have been arrested for allegedly stealing several firearms and other military weapons from the Old City Hall display in Denham Springs.

The Denham Springs Police Department reports that the items were reported missing on Tuesday, Aug. 7 shortly after 3:00 p.m. The stolen property included a replica/non-functional rifle, non-functional hand grenade and several knives.

The items taken were part of a historical collection on display in the military history section of the Old City Hall located on Mattie Street in Denham Springs.

After conducting an investigation, detectives identified three juveniles as potential suspects. Two of the teens are 12-years-old and the third is 15-years-old.

All of the items have been recovered, except for the non-functional hand grenade.

The teens were all arrested and booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
