Trina Edwards: 'I couldn't possibly be a prouder mommy!'
BATON ROUGE, LA — Former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards and his wife Trina are the proud parents of a baby boy who was born at 12:52 a.m. on Thursday, August 1.
Trina took to Facebook a fews hours later posting "Wow... what a day!! Too tired to sleep and couldn't stop staring at our perfect little boy. I couldn't possibly be a prouder mommy!"
The boy will likely be named Eli Wallace after Edwin's father. He weighed 6 lbs 3 oz. at birth and is 19 inches long.
This is the couples first child together. Trina has 2 other children, Edwin has 5. They met while Edwin was serving time in prison on federal racketeering charges.
A reality show about their life, "The Governor's Wife," was supposed to premier on A&E network in June but was delayed.
